Ship’s Store
The ship’s store was where sailors could buy extra rations of rum, maybe a twist of tobacco, perhaps needles and thread. It was sparse, and while sailors always outfitted their sea chests before shipping out, sometimes they would go to the ship’s store to replace worn dungarees or some other item of necessity that the store might stock.
Barrel no.51’s Ship’s Store is going to feature food products that we’ve come to use and to love. If you find it in our store, it’s because we’ve tasted it, and we like it. We’re not going to import a great deal of different products just to have them available. We put a great amount of importance on the trustworthiness of our name, and therefore, won’t offer something that we’ve not tried. While we realize that tastes are different, we think we can tell if something is good or not. You’ll not find the “not” here.
However, that being said, if you want us to carry a particular product, let us know, and we’ll get our hands on it for you.
